- BOOK SALES
The Chico Friends of the Library members-only book sale takes place on the first Friday of each month (except holiday weekends) from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Chico branch library’s meeting room. There are irresistibly low prices on books, magazines, media, and other items just as at the regular weekly sales, open to the public, on Saturday mornings from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m.
The April members-only sales takes place on Friday, April 5.
Books are also available for sale in the library’s lobby at fifty cents per item whenever the library is open. There are no better bargains for book lovers.
IMAGINE YOUR CHICO LIBRARY WITHOUT CFOL BOOK SALE SUPPORT
Used-book sales are the primary source of income for your CFOL. Book sales in March 2019 generated a record of more than $7300. Monthly sales income has enabled your CFOL to provide books, materials, furniture, support for activities, and other resources for library operations. A few examples:
Major contributions to the construction, remodeling, and equipping of the Maker Lab
Furniture purchases for Children’s Room
Software and other media licenses
New computer hardware
Support for adult’s, teen’s, and children’s programs
Major funding for an electronic sign outside the library (in process)
Book, magazine, and media purchases to fulfill patron requests and librarians’ selections
Chico Friends of the Library annual meeting and election of officers will take place on Tuesday, May 21 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chico branch library’s meeting room. Patrick Newell of Chico State University’s Meriam Library will be the guest speaker. Refreshments will be served. Please join us.
