Don&#8217;t miss this opportunity to browse our wide selection of gently used books, magazines, movies, \u00a0and other materials. \u00a0New items are continually added to the offerings.<\/p>\n<p>And don&#8217;t forget the weekly Saturday morning book sales open to the public from 9:00 to 11:30 am in the same location. \u00a0There are no better book bargains in town than the items offered for sale by your CFOL at these sales and on the special book sale shelves in the library.<\/p>\n<p>NATIONAL \u00a0LIBRARY WEEK<\/p>\n<p>Celebrate National Library Week, April 10 through April 16. \u00a0Consider commemorating National Library Week\u00a0by joining the scores of dedicated\u00a0library volunteers who assist in the library and book sales. \u00a0Show your appreciation by thanking staff and volunteers for making the Chico branch a vibrant and welcoming asset to the entire community.<\/p>\n<p>CFOL\u00a0BOARD\u00a0MEETING<\/p>\n<p>This month the CFOL board meeting\u00a0will be held one week later than usual, on the 4th Tuesday of the month, April 26, to enable members to attend the Book in Common lecture at CSU Chico on April 19. \u00a0New board members with fresh perspectives and new ideas are always needed to carry on the essential work of your CFOL board of directors. \u00a0Attend a Board meeting and learn more about how CFOL and its board of directors support the Chico branch library. \u00a0New members and a new board president are\u00a0currently being sought.<\/p>\n<p>LOOKING AHEAD<\/p>\n<p>The CFOL <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chicolibrary.org\/blog\/2016\/03\/27\/northern-california-author-to-speak-at-annual-meeting\/\">Annual Meeting<\/a> will be held on Tuesday, May 17. \u00a0Guest speaker will be Northern California author Catriona McPherson. \u00a0Learn more by clicking on the Annual Meeting link.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BOOK SALES The CFOL members-only First Friday book sale takes place on Friday, April 1 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in the library&#8217;s meeting room.
