The good news is that the 2015 Summer Reading Program is going very well. Also, the Jeffries Lydon fundraiser for the Chico Friends of the Library was a huge success, thanks to the Chico business community and the people who bought cupcakes and bid on door prizes.
The bad news is that the Chico City Council and the Butte County goverment chose not to fund the library so that it could keep its doors open 7 days a week. The library will be closed on Mondays and have shorter hours during the week.

Your time keeps the library open. We need you.
Volunteers generate library contributions. For every 100 hours that volunteers work in the library, the Chico Friends of the Library will donate $25. That adds up when a typical quarter sees over 8,000 volunteer hours worked.
