June Update

FIFTY PERCENT OFF BOOK SALE PRICES JUNE 1 and 2

All items at the CFOL book sales on June 1 and 2 will be discounted 50%.  That includes items for sale at the members-only sale on Friday, June 1 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm as well as at the regular sale open to the general public on Saturday morning, 9:00 am to 11:30 am.  With this deep discount off CFOL’s already low prices, shoppers won’t be able to resist the many bargains of books, magazines, media, and other items.

SUMMER READING PROGRAMS BEGIN

During June and July an array of activities designed to encourage reading and literacy will emphasize the joy of reading for all ages.  Children and teens can earn a free book by engaging in games, crafts, and other activities, while adults can participate in reading challenges of various kinds.  Special guest presentations are also scheduled.  Your CFOL is providing  funding to supplement support from the Butte County Library system.  Visit the Chico branch library to learn more and sign up.

See the Butte County Library homepage for a preview of adult Library Bingo.

AMAZON PURCHASES AID CHICO FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY

June is the month of graduations and Father’s Day.  If you are contemplating purchasing gifts from amazon.com, consider designating Chico Friends of the Library as your charitable organization to receive a percentage of the sales amount from Amazon.  For a description of the program and FAQs see  https://smile.amazon.com/about.

Helpful information includes:

“On your first visit to AmazonSmile, smile.amazon.com, you need to select a charitable organization to receive donations from eligible purchases before you begin shopping. We will remember your selection, and then every eligible purchase you make at smile.amazon.com will result in a donation.”
